Village Frock Blues!

Screenshot2010-11-16at5.08.42PM-2010-11-20-07-20.png
I was so excited to make this dress, The Village Frock, by Sugar City, for my daughters for their Christmas dresses! I had seen it last year and could not remember the name of the dress pattern. I searched high and low, finally when I found the name of the pattern and went to buy. I found out the pattern is no longer available!!! After seeing the Sugar City Flickr group I decided to not give up so easily.
If any one would like to share, borrow, trade or sell their Village Frock Pattern I will gladly share, borrow, trade or buy! Please contact me at leah.sewspoiled@gmail.com!

I did find this free tutorial by Simply Together! I am so thankful to have found it. Maybe I can piece the dress together using this pattern for the top and then gather the sleeves. I also noticed that the buttons were not always placed on the right side. Sometimes it is on the left side. If you know more about that process please let me know by writing to me at leah.sewspoiled@gmail.com! I would appreciate any and all information about the Village Frock.
These website have helpful pictures and instructions.
Does anyone know more information about this adore dress pattern?
Please share and post a comment here!

The buttons can be placed on either side of the bodice successfully. It just depends on which way you cut out your curved neck piece. I've made several of these dresses and get the buttons on opposite sides each time it seems.

Sweet Coin Purse Tutorial for Teacher Gifts

This time of year is so special to me because I get to show my gratitude for all of the hard work that goes into teaching my daughters. I love to make handmade gifts and this year is no exception. Since money does not grow on trees around here, I looked at my stash (I keep my scraps in hat boxes ) and tried to see what I had a lot of; small zippers, trims, Peltex strips ( from making iPad cases ), fabric scraps and some hardware for key fobs. So I set to work.  Materials: Plastic multipurpose 5" Zipper  Fabric Scraps Lightweight interfacing 808 Pellon Trims (We clipped  key fobs  with 1.5" swivel hooks onto our coin purses . There are tons of tutorials on making key fobs .) Step 1: Print out the Coin Purse Template  PDF.  Cut 2 main fabric, cut 2 lining and 2 interfacing using the template.  Optional: Cut a 2"X2" square of your choice main fabric or lining. This strip of fabric is used to clip a key fob to your coin purse later. We used a 1.5
